No. The VPOD operates completely on solar power during sunny days, featuring an in-built battery designed to last for up to three weeks without charging. There is no option to connect a VPOD to mains power – we’d advise opting for mobile CCTV towers if this is something you’d be looking to do.
Our VPODs connect completely wirelessly via a secured 2G SIM card. This ensures an uninterrupted connection and, in the unlikely event of a mobile network going down, your SIM switches seamlessly to the next available network. Any alarm activations or detection will immediately alert our National Operations Centre.
No. Your VPOD connects securely to our 24/7/365 National Operations Centre, which is monitored around the clock by trained, SIA-licensed professionals. From there, we’re able to rapidly deploy a trained security professional to investigate any disturbances on site, as well as escalate as necessary to local Police forces.
While all security technology is vulnerable to deliberate criminal damage, the VPOD has multiple measures to help prevent that. Any tampering or attacks result in a 120dB alarm sounding, as well as a string of alerts sent immediately to our National Operations Centre.
It can also be equipped with lights for additional visibility and connect to additional cameras within a 1.5km range for constant protection and surveillance.
