So often called a “living history book”, given its Roman architectural triumphs in its walls and the masterpiece Gothic Minster, York’s cobbled streets only lead to more jaw-dropping sights and breathtaking natural and man-made beauty. That’s meant a lower crime rate, too – 72.2 crimes per 1,000 residents.
