About the client:

Our client is a well-established medical centre providing a range of primary healthcare services to the local community. The organisation operates within a busy clinical environment, supporting patients with high-quality, accessible care.

It maintains a strong focus on patient wellbeing, safety, and infection control, ensuring all areas meet strict healthcare standards. The centre serves a diverse patient base and is committed to delivering a professional, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for both patients and staff.

 

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 18:45-20:45, totalling 15 hours per week

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine and deep cleaning of clinical and non-clinical areas, including treatment rooms, waiting areas, offices, and toilets
  • Ensure all areas are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in line with healthcare regulations
  • Follow strict infection control procedures, including correct use of cleaning products, PPE, and waste disposal methods
  • Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces regularly to minimise the risk of cross-contamination
  • Safely handle and dispose of clinical and non-clinical waste in accordance with policies and guidelines
  • Replenish consumables such as soap, hand towels, and toilet paper as required
  • Operate cleaning equipment and machinery safely and effectively
  • Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or low stock levels to the relevant person
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies, including COSHH regulations
  • Work efficiently both independently and as part of a team to ensure all cleaning tasks are completed on schedule
  • Maintain a professional and respectful approach when working in patient-facing environments

 

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Cleaning Operative or similar role
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks
  • Good communication skills to report any issues or concerns to management
