About the client:

We are looking for a reliable and competent Cleaning Operative to join the team at a busy medical practice in Hinckley. Working in a healthcare environment, maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene is essential to ensure the safety and comfort of patients and staff. The ideal candidate will have great attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to follow cleaning protocols with consistency and care.

Hours of work: Monday-Friday between the hours of 17:30-20:30, totalling 15 hours per week.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Thoroughly disinfect and sanitise medical equipment, surfaces, and patient rooms.
• Follow strict infection control protocols to prevent the spread of infections.
• Properly handle and dispose of medical waste according to guidelines.
• Clean and sanitise public areas like waiting rooms, offices, kitchens, communal areas restrooms, and corridors.
• Perform specialised cleaning in critical areas like operating rooms.
• Maintain cleanliness and stock supplies in patient and public areas.
• Ensure cleaning equipment is well-maintained and functional.
• Communicate maintenance issues promptly to supervisors.
• Keep accurate records of cleaning activities for compliance.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines, using PPE as needed.
• Respond to emergency cleaning situations effectively.
• Collaborate with cleaning and medical staff for a clean environment.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Cleaning Operative or similar role
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks
• Good communication skills to report any issues or concerns to management
