About the role:

The Accounts Receivable Controller will play a key role within our Head Office team in Buckshaw Village, Chorley, supporting the smooth and efficient management of the company’s accounts receivable processes, including billing and credit control. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this role is ideal for a highly organised and detail-oriented individual who is confident managing customer accounts, utilising business systems and building positive working relationships with customers and colleagues.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of the company’s billing processes, ensuring that invoices are raised in a timely manner and high level of accuracy by utilising the organisational time management system.
  • Manage and maintain the sales ledger, ensuring customer accounts are accurate and up to date.
  • Monitor overdue invoices using the organisational accounts receivable software and proactively drive resolution.
  • Daily allocation of customer receipts and reconciliation of customer accounts.
  • Investigate and resolve customer queries in a timely manner.
  • Produce and issue customer statements, reminders, and aged debt reports using the organisational accounts receivable software.
  • Support month end processes, including calculation of debt provisions and relevant reporting.
  • Ownership of the weekly credit control meetings, proposing next steps for resolutions and escalating to senior management where required.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed in line with company procedures, financial controls, and deadlines.

 

Requirements:

  • Demonstratable experience in Accounts Receivable / Credit Control roles.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial information.
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Experience of documenting processes and coaching junior colleagues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, with experience of using Sage 200, AR software, Time Management systems and ERP systems beneficial.
