About the client:

A number of clients around Oswestry encompass various surgeries, clinics, and hospices, each dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare services to the community. The surgeries in the area offer comprehensive primary care, catering to a wide range of medical needs from routine check-ups to specialised treatments.

 

Hours of work:

Monday – Friday, flexible starts between the hours of 05:30 – 22:00. (Shifts will be discussed on interview). We expect this role to cover around 15 hours per week, there is occasional weekend work if desired by the applicant.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Thoroughly disinfect and sanitise medical equipment, surfaces, and patient rooms.
  • Follow strict infection control protocols to prevent the spread of infections.
  • Properly handle and dispose of medical waste according to guidelines.
  • Clean and sanitise public areas like waiting rooms, restrooms, and corridors.
  • Perform specialised cleaning in critical areas like operating rooms.
  • Maintain cleanliness and stock supplies in patient and public areas.
  • Ensure cleaning equipment is well-maintained and functional.
  • Communicate maintenance issues promptly to supervisors.
  • Keep accurate records of cleaning activities for compliance.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines, using PPE as needed.
  • Respond to emergency cleaning situations effectively.
  • Collaborate with cleaning and medical staff for a clean environment.

 

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Cleaning Operative or similar role
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks
  • Good communication skills to report any issues or concerns to management
  • Full UK driving licence, proof of business insurance, a valid MOT certificate and driver checks to be presented at interview.
